Crop Specificity: Rapeseed

Oilseed rape is one of the most important oilseed crops cultivated in the temperate climate zone.

It is one of the most demanding crop in terms of the soil nutrient supply requirements. In the temperate climate conditions, winter varieties are the most popular for the production of Oilseed rapeseed. Major elements of Oilseed rape yield structure include:
 
  • the number of plants per m2
  • the number of seeds produced by the plant
  • the weight of 1,000 seeds
 
The yield size is determined by the amount of plant biomass produced, which depends on proper nutrition with nitrogen, while providing adequate availability of phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, sulphur and trace elements. Seed yield is the greater, the greater the biomass of the field at full maturity. High nutritional requirements of Oilseed rape mean that in addition to soil fertilisation, foliar feeding must be aslo applied. In terms of macronutrients, it is a complementary treatment (foliar feeding only covers a small part of nutritional requirements), and in terms of trace elements, foliar feeding is the primary and most effective method of nutrient supply.

In practice, Oilseed rape feeding with trace elements is primarily focused on the elements such as: boron (MIKROVIT BORON) and manganese (MIKROVIT MANGANESE or MIKROCHELAT Mn-13), as well as molybdenum, especially recommended in autumn (MIKROVIT MOLYBDENUM), followed by zinc (MIKROVIT ZINC or MIKROCHELAT Zn-15), iron (MIKROVIT IRON or MIKROCHELAT Fe-13), and copper (MIKROVIT COPPER or MIKROCHELAT Cu-15). Winter Oilseed Rape, at every stage of growth and development is exposed to numerous tillage and environmental factors adversely affecting its yield - from sowing, forming a rosette of leaves in autumn, through the winter dormancy period and resuming spring growth and flowering, to the silicle and seeds formation.
 
STRESS CONTROL SYSTEM (SCS-OILSEED RAPE), a strategy of supporting the natural resistance of crops through the use of INTERMAG stimulants and activators, effectively improves Oilseed rape natural resistance to adverse environmental and cultivation conditions, hence reducing the risk of loss of part of the yield. Foliar feeding of crops with suitable nutrients (PLONVIT fertilisers) and promoting the growth of their natural resistance (OPTYSIL, TYTANIT biostimulants) improve proper crop development, health, and resistance to stress. All these treatments discussed in further tabs, significantly impact the increase in yield and its good quality properties.
