Adjuvant FASTER for use with plant protection products

In every farm, the goal is to optimize the use of plant protection treatments. Therefore, the application of these treatments is accompanied by the preparation of spray mixtures. These mixtures consist of various products with different functions, compositions, and formulations. To ensure their optimal combination, the addition of the FASTER adjuvant is essential.

What are adjuvants?

Adjuvants are often called boosters because their function is to modify the physicochemical properties of the working solution. Thanks to this, adjuvants improve its biological effectiveness, for example by improving miscibility, preventing drift, or increasing adhesion.

Adjuvants are products that do not act directly on plants, but allow for achieving higher effectiveness of other products. Adjuvants can be part of the preparation, as is the case with most plant protection products, especially those in liquid forms. They are also separate products that can be added to the sprayer tank during the preparation of the spray liquid, regardless of the adjuvants present in the preparations.

FASTER is precisely such an adjuvant that should be added first to the water during the preparation of the spray mixture.

What are the functions of adjuvants?

The primary function of adjuvants is to enhance the effectiveness of the components in working solutions, thus increasing the efficiency of the treatment. This can be demonstrated, for example, by improving herbicide performance or increasing the uptake of nutrients from foliar fertilisers.

Adjuvants can serve a variety of functions:

  • modifying the properties of the water used to prepare the spray solution — altering or maintaining its pH level and reducing its hardness.
  • facilitating the preparation of spray solutions — increasing its stability and reducing the risk of precipitation of its components.
  • reducing foaming of the working solution composed of multiple products.
  • improving the quality of plant coverage with the working solution — lowering the surface tension of droplets, which allows them to cover a larger area where the product is applied.
  • reducing spray drift during application — helping to minimize the risk of negative impact on neighboring crops and uncontrolled product losses.
  • aiding in the penetration/absorption of products by plants — enhancing the utilization of their biologically active components.
  • increasing the retention of compounds in the top layer of the soil — an important function when used in combination with pre-emergent herbicides.

How does the FASTER adjuvant work?

Adjuvants influence many aspects related to the preparation of the working solution and the actual spraying process. The FASTER adjuvant is a multifunctional product, meaning it offers several modes of action. Here are its most important functions:

  • allows for better and more efficient mixing of preparations in the spray solution
  • improves the properties of the spray solution, enhancing coverage on treated plants and facilitating absorption
  • reduces foaming of the working solution.

How to use FASTER?

The amount of FASTER adjuvant to be added to the sprayer tank, once filled with the appropriate amount of water, depends on the water dosage per hectare. A recommended addition is 0.1 liter of the product for every 100 liters of water per hectare. It’s important to remember this simple ratio, and there is no need to increase the product dose.
